Residential Mental Health Treatment

A peaceful retreat where healing has room to unfold, with the clinical depth to match.

Our Program

What Residential Treatment at Trillium Looks Like

It’s like a peaceful retreat where people receive therapy, medication support, nature-based experiences, and the time and space to breathe, heal, and rediscover themselves.

Trillium Wellness Center is a 16-bed residential program built for adults who need more than outpatient care can offer. Set in a rural, natural environment away from the pace of daily life, our residential program gives clients the structure and clinical depth they need, alongside the space to genuinely rest and reconnect.

Helping People in Need

Restore, Reconnect, Renew, What Each Phase Involves

Restore

Clinical stabilization through individual therapy, group therapy, and psychiatric medication management, supported by brain mapping for more precise, individualized care.

Reconnect

Rebuilding connection to self, to loved ones, and to the natural world through nature therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and experiential work led by our on-site therapists.

Renew

Building the resilience, coping tools, and sense of purpose clients carry with them after discharge, through relapse prevention and aftercare planning.

Our Residence

A Small, Intimate Setting

With 16 beds, Trillium is intentionally small. This isn’t a large facility processing clients through a standardized track, it’s a place where our hands-on clinical director and clinical team know each client personally, and where treatment plans reflect the individual, not just the diagnosis.

Trillium is not a gender-specific program; we welcome adults of all genders.

Our Program

Built for Complex, High-Acuity Needs

Trillium Wellness Center was built specifically for people whose needs are too complex for many other programs, including high-acuity mental health conditions and eating disorders. If you’ve been told “no” somewhere else, we want to understand your situation directly.

About Trillium Wellness

Our Story

Trillium Wellness is a new residential mental health program built around a simple belief: healing happens when people feel safe, supported, and truly seen.

We named our program after the trillium, a quiet, three-petaled wildflower that grows low to the forest floor and returns, faithfully, season after season. Like the flower, our care is rooted in three guiding principles: restore, reconnect, and renew.

Our Mission

At Trillium Wellness, we believe that healing begins when individuals feel safe, supported, and acknowledged. Our care is grounded in three guiding principles, represented by the three petals of the trillium: restore, reconnect, and renew. We combine evidence-based clinical care with holistic wellness and nature-centered experiences to help bring balance to the mind, body, and spirit. Our goal is to support each person in rediscovering their inner light, embracing resilience, and leaving with a renewed sense of purpose and lasting wellness.

How We Treat

Rooted in Community

Trillium Wellness Center is locally owned, not part of a larger corporate portfolio. We partner with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s social work program, known for its focus on farm and nature-based therapy, bringing academic depth and genuine local roots into our clinical model.
