Restore, Reconnect, Renew
Trillium Wellness is a new residential mental health program built around a simple belief: healing happens when people feel safe, supported, and truly seen.
We named our program after the trillium, a quiet, three-petaled wildflower that grows low to the forest floor and returns, faithfully, season after season. Like the flower, our care is rooted in three guiding principles: restore, reconnect, and renew.
Trillium is owned and led by people from this community, not a corporation.

Trillium Wellness is locally owned, not part of a large private equity portfolio like some of the larger programs in our region. That matters to us. It means our decisions are made by people who live in this community, not a corporate office somewhere else.
We’re an intentionally small program: 16 beds, welcoming adults of all genders. That size is a choice, not a limitation. It means our clinical director stays hands-on with every client’s care, and our team gets to know the person, not just the diagnosis.
Helping People in Need
Many people arrive at Trillium Wellness after being told “no” somewhere else, a complex diagnosis, a high level of acuity, a history that felt like too much for another program to take on. We built Trillium specifically for these moments. We want to give people a chance when other doors have closed.
We also know that many families in our region have had to travel out of state to find the kind of high-quality, high-acuity mental health care they needed. We’re here to change that, offering serious clinical care without asking people to leave their community behind.
Holistic Therapies
Our rural setting isn’t just scenery, it’s part of how we treat. Being outside the pace of city life gives our clients room to breathe, and it gives our experiential therapists room to work: hands-on, outdoors, in activities that connect people back to themselves and to something larger.
We’re proud to partner with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s social work program, which has a well-established focus on farm and nature-based therapy, bringing academic depth and community connection into our clinical model. We also partner with a veteran-run therapy dog program, integrating animal-assisted therapy into trauma care in a way few programs in our region offer.
